How do I convert a Google Sheet file into MS Excel

Converting a Google Sheet file to an MS Excel file is very simple. Here are the steps, how you can do it

Go to Google Sheets

Open the spreadsheet you want to convert.

Download as Excel:

Click on File in the top-left corner.

Hover over Download in the dropdown menu.

Select Microsoft Excel (.xlsx)

Your file has been saved in your device

After downloading, open MS Excel in your computer or laptop. You can open the file directly from here

Or you go to the file location and then open the file from there

When the file will open in your device, on the top, you will see the button Enable Editing.

Click on that button to open in your device in a regular manner. When click on the button, the file will see as a normal Excel file

Save the File:

Choose a location on your computer/laptop and click Save As button to save the file in your device

Note: The file is already saved so if you click on the Save button, no dialog box will open, so here you have to click on Save As button

To Note: Certain functions in Google Sheets are not compatible with Excel

Google Sheets has certain functions that are not supported by MS Excel. If your spreadsheet uses one or more of these functions, you will need to remove them or replace them with Excel-compatible functions before converting your files.
